On Saturday 26th July over 1600 people crammed into the Colston Hall for Bristol Cares.

The show was in aid of the British Red Cross's work in China & Burma following their recent horrific natural disasters.

ITV West's Sherrie Eugene was the host for the evening, and she was supported by many familiar faces from the worlds of Sport, Music & Television.

Samba Sullis started the show with a extraordinary performance, followed by The Great Western Chorus, and an amazing display from dancers' The Urban Angels.

Peter Rowell & Jane Solomans both introduced acts, Adulthood star Jacob Anderson, sang a stunning acapella of Stevie Wonders lately, and Bristol Lou Gar Kung Fu gave a demo of their martial arts techniques.

Chinese Youth Music entertained, as did award winning MC Frenzee.

The audience were also treated to an awesome dance routine from The Floor Technicians, and a spoof Bristol's Got Talent show, where ITV's Alex Beresford & Tobias Jon from BCFM were upstaged by a member of the audience who won the competition after the audience voted via a 'clapometer'.

Bristol's legendary DJ's Soultrain entertained the audience throughout the interval with there usual blend of classic soul tunes.

The second part of the show started in spectacular fashion with the Shadow Angels wowing the crowd with their slick dance routine. Performances from The Electralytes and Alphonse kept the party going.

Commonwealth Boxing Champion Dean Francis took to the stage to support the cause, as did local 'Little Britain' actor Marcus Smith.

Bristol City Manager Gary Johnson and Rovers legend Carl Saunders cheered their teams on as they attempted to out do each other by collecting the most donations whilst 80's pop legend Charlene performed her no 1 hit ' I've Never Been To Me'.

Show-stopping performances from both I-Kay and the Freshblood Crew featuring Marie, led us to our last act. World champion hip-hop dancers the Dark Angels wowed the crowd with an awesome display of their street dance routine.

The final performance saw all of the evenings performers take to the stage together to blast out their own version of ' Let It Be'.

The audience left entertained, the event raised much needed funds for a wonderful cause and we are proud to say, that something special was started at the Colston Hall that night, because despite the many differences of age, sex, religion, class, or race. Bristol was United and it felt good!
